Independent Boarding Family Mentoring
Independent mentoring for families navigating international boarding education. Because the distance between you and your child should never feel impossible to bridge.
Every family deserves a guide who has been on the inside.
What Families Feel
You cannot read the situation. Your child says everything is fine. Something feels off. You do not know who to ask.
You feel locked out. The school has its processes. You are on the outside looking in, and no one translates what is really happening.
You worry about the wrong things. Without context, every silence becomes a question and every missed call a concern.
You do not know how to support from a distance. The tools that worked at home do not always work across time zones and cultures.
When something goes wrong, you feel helpless. Disciplinary issues, welfare concerns, peer conflict. You need someone who understands the system from the inside.
My name is José Miquelino. I have spent over 15 years working directly inside international boarding schools, supporting hundreds of students and families from more than 30 nationalities worldwide.
I know what your child's daily life looks like. I know how boarding schools make decisions, what they communicate and what they do not, and what the real signs of struggle look like when a young person is far from home.
I work exclusively for families. Not for schools. My expertise spans boarding leadership, child safeguarding, counselling practice, and student wellbeing. I am trained to read situations, ask the right questions, and help families respond with clarity rather than anxiety.
Sessions are available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Every conversation is fully confidential and completely independent.
